Jamie Jenkins completed the 20Twenty Leadership Course in 2019. As Operations Leader of Dow Chemicals, he is responsible for the safe production of manufacturing units producing silicone based products for industry. He oversees a team of 48 operators who provide 24 hour cover 365 days a year.
How did the 20Twenty programme help you personally?
The 20Twenty programme and the team of experienced practitioners exposed me to ideas and methodologies that has helped to shape my leadership style. I have attended various leadership training courses internally with Dow but this programme took me to a different level of understanding about leadership and myself.
Did the 20Twenty programme help you succeed in your business or department?
Yes, I am on a journey with my department to change the culture and make some organisational changes to meet business demand. The 20Twenty programme has been key in the planning of how to address these changes. It’s still early into the journey but there is no doubt that this programme has changed me for the better, making me more able to achieve my objectives.

What are the best bits of the course?
Leadership as a subject was very interesting, but the tutors made the difference with their in depth knowledge and experiences. All of them were engaging and made the course very enjoyable. Carla was also brilliant with her organising and general helpfulness.
Would you say you’re a better leader since doing the course?
Yes, I’m not the completed article but it definitely got me thinking from a different perspective and I am also using this to help other leaders at Dow.
Would you recommend the course to others?
Yes definitely, I have recommended it to many people within my organisation because it’s the most impactful course I have ever completed.
